I grew up in Texas with my siblings under the shade of live oak trees.

I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from Arizona State University. Then, after 2 years, I graduated with a master’s in Journalism from the University of Colorado in Boulder.

I’ve spent most of my life in the American Southwest (if you include Texas in your SW definition), but I also lived in Groningen for a semester, and Boston for a summer.

I’ve worked a number of jobs over the past 6 years including but not limited to: barista, production assistant, teaching assistant, graduate assistant, freelance photographer, radio fellow, and most recently a media intern.

I am also the proud owner of a terrier named Jack-jack.
